Hi all
I'm new to this list---nice to meet you all : o ) I'm researching my family tree and have trced one line back to my g grandmother,an Alice Lavender who was born around 1865 in Lye, Worcs and married Charles Jepson probably around 1890 and then lived in Middlesbrough.
I can't find a definite family for Alice but have found an Alice Lavender in the 1881 census who was born in Lye, Staffs but about 1863---she was a servant to an Edgbaston family so I have no further family info on her. I have also found an Alice Lavender also b 1863 in Dudley,Worcs. which is very close to Lye. The 1901 census entry for Alice Jepson states she was born in Lye,Worcs. Sio'Ive got a collection of places of birth and not quite matching years of birth----hoping someone might be able to help me out.
