Hello, all!

I have a 1490 document relating to a Droitwich ancestor (PRO E/210/5581),
and I thought I'd see if anyone recognized any of the various place-names
mentioned therein. These names may be long-gone, but if anyone has any
comments, maps or photographs of these pertinent locations, I'd love to hear
from you.

The Latin document is abstracted below:

William Boteler of Wyche to William, abbot of the monastery of St. Mary the
virgin of Bordesley:

1) Two fields called Braddenge and Hawfeld' lying in the parishes of
Tardebyg' and Fekynham on the royal road

2) A certain field called Shepardisfeld' lying within the aforesaid parish
of Tardebyg' between the slope of the water descending from a certain bridge
called Olborn'pole from one direction and a field called Foxefeld' from
the other direction

3) A certain field within the aforesaid parish of Tardeby called Baggeleys
lying between the field called Hentloys from one direction and the
"vennel"/lane called Couperslane from the other direction

4) In one croft in the same place called Eldycrofte stretching lengthwise
from a certain field called Ryefeld' up to a rivulet called Hummull'broke

5) one field in the same place called Rosefeld' lying between a rivulet
called Hummull'broke and field called Foxfeld

Do these locations have any significance to anyone? Was the abbey actively
acquiring land in this period, or was William Boteler possibly just giving
away land late in his life? I don't know William's date of death, though
he'd have been an older man by 1490.

Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Jon M. Stallard
