Hi list
I've seen a few messages floating around re BATES
Our connection to Bates is a John Bate witnessed the will of Robert Silvester of Stafford in 1799, then in 1820 the following marriage.
WILLIAM SILVESTER married ANN BATES 3 January 1820 in St Peters & St Pauls Aston.
Children of WILLIAM SILVESTER and ANN BATES are:
i. EMMA SILVESTER, b. 20 September 1822.
ii. ANN SILVESTER, b. 21 December 1823.
iii. WILLIAM SILVESTER, b. 24 June 1825.
iv. JOHN SILVESTER, b. 21 August 1828.
v. CHARLES JAMES SILVESTER, b. 2 March 1830.
vi. JOHN SILVESTER, b. 25 August 1835.
If this William is connected to Robert, then he would be his grandson.
If we can find more on Ann, then we may be able to find out if William belongs on our tree.
Are these two connected to the other BATES on this list?
