David,

You mention a tinning shop in your email to Frances, my 2xgreatgrandfather was a tin man in Stourport in the late 1850s or early 1860s. His name was Samuel Whitnum b.1825 Caerleon, MONb d. Brooklyn, NY USA. He emmigrated to the US in 1862. I know he lived in Stourport even though he wasn't there for a census year. I have a small book of Hymnals that his wife Charlotte Biggs owned and wrote her name and address in the cover. It is difficult to read but I can make out Stourport (for the longest time I thought it was a misspelling for Southport) . I was wondering if there was a mention of him or his father since they were both tin men with the same name.

TIA,
PattiD in NJ, USA
