This is amazing. I put in my request, go to bed, and in the morning am inundated with census images. Thanks to both Deb Nowell and John for breaking down this brick wall I've been pecking away at for months. Now why could I not find these images on Ancestry? I do have a subscription....Deb, I think my "Hemming" family were builders in the 1840's (certainly John Hemming, my gggrandfather, and Alfred, his son and my ggrandfather, were, but I ended up with Sarah Letitia Hemming (nee Stanton), widow of Alfred, as a haberdasher in the 1860's so maybe not a stretch after all. John, I certainly will "pay it forward" at the next opportunity. Thanks so much, both of you.
