advice/suggestions welcome!

I recently ordered a marriage certificate from the GRO for my ggggrandfather
Benjamin Hinchcliffe - 1862 Barnsley vol 9c page 178 - BH lived in Wortley
& was married to Susanna ? (2nd marriage) about this time ( an 1864 entry
is NOT him) But the GRO has replied "this reference does not relate to an
entry containing this name"

I would appreciate advice re what to do next
