Hi List

Another famous Woollen Family the Haggas Family had two mills one at Ingrow
and one at Mill Lane Oakworth. Sir James Ellison Haggas ran the Ingrow mill
jointly with his nephew Herbert....who lived at Oakbank House, until Herberts
death in 1924, when control passed to James Ellison and his three sons. James
was knighted in 1926 and lived at Woodville, Spring Gardens Lane Keighley (
was an old peoples home but I believe it is now an horticulural college)
House is still there. In 1939 after his death at the age of 90 ( he left a
net will of £37,933) the concern went bankrupt. Immediately John Haggas
formed a new firm.
