Hi,
I am new to this list, we recently found one of my husbands g uncles living
in Surrey in the 1881 census. His birthplace was listed as Ely,
Cambridgshire. His name was William John GAZE b. 1838/9. We have recently
recieved information ( thanks to Martin Edwards) that he and his brother
Edwin (b. 1840) were born to William GAZE and Susan BOWYER. We also know
that William GAZE senior was an exciseman and had the following other
children outside of Cambridgshire: Henry, Ellen, Thomas, Walter, and Jessie
(there may be others also?)
Any information about this family would be greatly appreciated.
