Greetings Listers!
In writing this request I recognise that I am casting a rather Wide
net!
On the assumption that readers will cast an eye over many thousand
feet of microfilm and microfiche, I am hoping that someone with
an eagle Eye might be able to help..
I am trying to find evidence of the origins of William WHITEHAND(Below)
Events/Names I am seeking : any reference to Death/Burial of Edward
and/or Ann WHITEHAND (nee Cooper) in the 1740-1800 period..
This couple married in Isleham, 1740.. their whereabouts thereafter not
known..( possible Haddenham/Ely or into West Suffolk).
. Ely (St Mary overseers documents 1740
.. Edward WHITEHAND 'put out' to Isleham by church wardens and
overseers of the parish of ELY,Trinity.
(" The Marriage Licence Allegation also states Edmund[sic] Whitehand
of Trinity parish of ELY,singleman Married Ann Cooper of Isleham, single
woman. Two mentioned men, Geo GUNSTON and Francis NORMAN were
each firmly bound to pay Ricd Ray A M the sum of £200.00..
"Ann COOPER, Geo GUNSTON and Francis NORMAN were all members of the
Independent church of Isleham. Francis was admitted to membership in
1748
Additionally, a possible son, William (abt1748-1839)' [Settlement
certificate for
William WHITE[HEAD] of Haddenham to Ely,St Mary on 8 Apr 1779 same year
Wm WHITEHAND married in Flempton, SFK].
Could I ask that you keep an Eye open as you do you own work, for any
clue
which can point me into the appropriate area to continue my research.
Regards from OZ
John
