Subject: GRAY/GREY and FULLER in Cambridge
Date: Tue, 4 Jul 2000 15:47:18 EDT
Greeting fellow Enlgish!!!
I am looking for information on Abraham and Susan GREY in Cambridge.
According to the 1851 census It looked like they were separated because it
showed Abraham Grey as the head in Waterbeach and Susan as the head in
Littleport. They both have George Henry, Louisa born 1838 in Norfolk, Lynn
Regis, James E. (my ancestor) born 1842 in Swaffham Prior, and William born
in 1845 from Littleport. As you can see within the ten years, they have
moved to three different places. Reasons unkown!!!
Susan GREY's maiden name was FULLER and was born in LIttleport. Her
parents were George and Susanna FULLER. George was born around 1790 and was
from Reach. Accoridng to 1851 census He was a retired "waterman" Can anyone
describe this occupation? Susannah was born around 1789 maiden name unknown
and was from LIttleport. The census showed that their daughter Susan was a
schoomistress.
James E. GREY (my ancestor) immigrated to America in 1854 when he was
12 years old. I could not find his immigration record; I believe that his
grandfather being a waterman might have had a contract with some company and
help his grandson to make a trip to America. Would anyone know how I would
be able to find immigration record with this type of situation?
If any one of you have information on any of the people that I
mentioned above, I would love to hear from you!!! Thank you in advance for
your time and help!!
God bless you!!
Dan
