Hello fellow subscribers:
I recently interviewed an elderly aunt. She said that my deceased
mother-in-law and deceased father-in-law met (circa 1936) while both were
working at the estate of LORD FAIRHAVEN, who lived in Newmarket. Has anyone
ever heard of LORD FAIRHAVEN? (I'm not sure of the correct spelling of
FAIRHAVEN.)
Thanks,
Julie Claydon
P.S.: By the way, I interviewed this elderly aunt on camera. I have a list
of about 100 questions that I asked her (I gave her the questions ahead of
time so she could study them.) The questions start off with "what is your
name?", "who were you named after?" and are in a good sequential order so
that the person being interviewed talks about their grandparents, parents,
childhood, dating, marriage, their children, likes/dislikes, etc. This aunt
lived through the WWII bombing of Coventry and told some very sad stories.
It's a wonderful way to get old folks to talk about the past! The only bad
thing about it is that the videotape is 2 hours in length! I would be more
than happy to share the list of questions with anyone who e-mails me.
