To All who wrote to me regarding the above -

Many thanks. With your help I was able to discover that my brother-in-law's Pathfinder 'Skipper' survived the war, leaving the RAF in 1946. I learnt that he had been promoted from Flight Sergeant to Flight Lieutenant and on the way had been awarded the DFC, DFM and RAFVR.

I hope I have also discovered something which will be of use to some of you out there. I asked a local friend to put a query about my Flight Sergeant on the London mailing list to which she belongs and she sent me one reply she received which was -

It is worth logging on to see what it has to offer. I clicked on 'Search Request - London' and wrote to the volunteer's email address given with the information I had. Within a few hours I received a reply giving me the address and telephone number in London of a fellow bearing the name and initials I wanted.

I telephoned the London number tonight and spoke to my brother-in-law's old Skipper - they last flew on a mission together in December 1943! I then telephoned my brother-in-law in Godmanchester and told him the great news, and he also is delighted. With your help, and the help of Hollie on the above volunteer scheme, I have been able to re-unite two old WWII comrades.

Thanks :o))
