Hi Meg.

I have an interest in the SWANN family of Burrough Green.

I have a William STINTON marrying Charlotte SWANN on 7/11/1834 at St
Augustines, Burrough Green.
I have also listed one son, Frank STINTON.

Any connection?

In the book "A History of the Parish of Burrough Green" by WM Palmer,
partidge Hall is included under the sections on "Tithe Awards" - details as
follows:-

No on plan: 148, Partidge Hall, House & Barn etc , 1a. 2r. 16p.

It is included under Westley Lodge Farms,
Owner: the Rev James Barker (Rector of Westley Waterles 1836 to 1850)
Occupier: Thomas Gilbert.

There is a portion of the tithe award map of Burrough Green in the book, but
it is very small, so very hard to read. I can't find No. 148. I also have a
1901 map but can't find Partidge Hall on it. Could find no mention of John
Howlett in the book.

I have no ideas what newspapers were around in 1800. Although the book has
lots of info on the Parish. I got my copy only a few years ago. Think is
cost about £5 and think it came from the Cambridge Antiquarian Society.
Don't know the addres, maybe someone in Cambridge will know.

My surname interests in Burrough Green are OAK(e), ELSDEN & STINTON.
Would love to hear from anyone interested in these surnames or with an
interest in the village.
