Subject: [FENS] Dutchmen draining the fens

Family tradition has it that our JODE family were originally from Holland and came over in the 1600s in order to help with the drainage of the fens.
JODE is not a common name in England. I wondered whether any of the folk who are so knowledgeable about Huguenot movements had ever come across this name in their researches. There are a large number of JODE/JOADs in the Isle of Thanet area of Kent, but I wondered if anyone had come across them further north.
