Hi,
I am trying to locate the christening of my Great-great Grandfather, George
Frederick BALLS (1878-1962), but am stuck and am in need of advice.
George Frederick BALLS was born 25th August 1878, eldest son of Henry BALLS
and Elizabeth Ann BALLS nee TROLLEY, in Walsoken, CAM/NFK. I have gone
through the Parish registers for Walsoken church for 1878 and the years
following, but have been unable to locate a christening. His parents, Henry
and Elizabeth Ann were married in the Providence Chapel in Wisbech on 15
October 1867, according to the rites and ceremonies of the Primitive
Methodists. Does the fact that his parents were methodists means that he
would have been christened as a methodist? Do any methodist christening
records exist for methodist chapels in the wisbech area?, where can these be
found?
None of George's siblings were christened at Walsoken (church of England),
although all of his children (excluding the eldest) were, even though he was
married in a methodist chapel (just to make it more confusing!).
George's siblings were, in case anyone has a connection:
Eliza Annie BALLS (1872-1888)
Hannah BALLS (1874-1963)
Alice Mary BALLS (1876-1956)
(George Frederick BALLS (1878-1962))
Arthur William BALLS (1880-1917)
Alfred Henry BALLS "Harry" (1883-1956)
Flora Catharine BALLS (1885-1964)
Eva Annie BALLS (1889-1946)
Hope someone can help,
Greg Ball
