Charles H. Enyeart, Saxton businessman died at his home on Tuesday afternoon, October 17, 1961. He had been ill for the past two months, but had been in failing health for some time.
The deceased became associated in the clothing business with his father, the late J. F. Enyeart & Son in 1910 and continued the business until 1935 when the disastrous fire leveled the building. He then rebuilt the business and operated it as Enyeart's Mens Store until 1956 when he retired. His son H. Mike Enyeart has since operated the store, under the same name.
The Enyearts at one time operated a store in Everett.
Mr. Enyeart was born at Saxton, Pennsylvania, July 21, 1891, a son of the late James and Alice (Hyssong) Enyeart. He was united in marriage to Mary Edith McCahan on February 2, 1915, at Saxton.
He is survived by his step-mother, Mrs. Harry Finch of St. Petersburg, Florida, his wife Mary Edith and two sons, Dr. C. R. Enyeart of Plainfield, New Jersey and H. M. enyeart of Saxton. Four grandchildren also survive in addition to two sisters and a brother: Mrs. H. A. Eichelberger of Saxton; Mrs. Ernest Billington of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Frank Enyeart of Bedford.
The deceased was a member of the Saxton Methodist Church; a charter member of past president of the Saxton Lions Club; a member of the Broad Top Chamber of Commerce; director of the Bedford County Thrift Company and active in many other aspects of community life.
Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon, October 20 from the Masood Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Charles F. Hess, pastor of his church officiating. Interment was in St. Luke's Cemetery, Saxton, R. D.
