Hi everyone.
With regard to the term "Rents" when used by people as entries in
Baptismal registers etc, perhaps this referred simply to their landlords
name and was not part of a postal address or street , etc,name and
therefore would not appear on any street map index or census.
Just a local way of indicating where you lived.
I am not sure at what date a proper address was given to each
individual residence maybe when individuals learnt to read and write
and therefore began to send and receive mail, the Penny post was
introduced in 1840, or was it the introduction of a rating system.
Sorry if this is not the point of the original enquiry which i may have
missed.
