I just checked this site, it is still working as before.

Go to

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~abneypark/abneyy.html

ignore the ancestry adverts and scroll down, you will see the screen in
divided in two horizontally, scroll down the lower (small) screen until
you see ABCDEFG etc and click on the initial of the surname you are
looking for. I must admit it is a little arcane. but it works.
