My in-laws were born in E16 (1920) and Tidal Basin (in 1919). They left
London after being bombed out for the second time in WW2. They occasionally
refer to themselves as "real Eastenders", adding that the programme
Eastenders is nothing like the real thing!

I was born on the Isle of Dogs 75 years ago and I have NEVER NEVER heard of
woof woof after telling people where I came from, and incidently, we are
East Londoners, not Eastenders which is derogatory.
