Subject: [EOLFHS-MEMBERS] Marriage certificate
Date: Tue, 27 Mar 2007 17:07:05 +0100

I have in my possession a marriage cert. July 27th 1884 of a 2 x G Uncle
Albert Kite who was an Ivory Cutter. The marriage took place in St Thomas
Church Bethnal Green.

This certificate was found on a market stall by a browser who was fascinated
by its appearance and having no connection to my family, purchased it. He
later advertised it hoping to reunite it to a family member and fortunately
succeeded- me!!

The certificate is pale blue. across the top is the inscription
'Those whom God hath joined together let no man put asunder'
Across the button is the inscription,
'Live together in Holy Love Unto Your Lives' End'

The above is truly copied from the Register of St Thomas Bethnal Green in
the County of Middlesex.

The certificate appears to be backed in linen.
At the bottom left hand corner is a one penny Inland Revenue stamp with
Queen Victoria facing left.

I intend sending this out to Australia to a lady who has been kind enough to
send me details of this Albert who was the brother of my G Grandmother Ellen
Marie Kite. It would be nice if I could contribute a few more details about
it.

Any contributions would be gratefully received.
