"Estate of Daniel Rogers, Merchant
Born in Kittery, Me, Oct. 25, 1734, Died in Gloucester, Mass., Januar=
y
4, 1800. Married in Gloucester, 1st, Elizabeth Gorham, Nov. 6, 1759, by
whom he had six children. Married in Gloucester, 2nd, Rachel Ellery, Mar=
ch
20, 1770, by whom he had fifteen children.
The amount of $6022.14 has been received from the United States for a
"French Spoliation Claim" prosecuted before the U.S. Court of Claims by m=
e,
as Administrator of his Estate, for the illegal seizure of the "Sch.
Esther" and Cargo, on the high seas, Feb. 13, 1798, by the French Private=
er
"LeVengeur".
The Act of U.S. Congress, awarding that amount was on May 27, 1902, a=
nd
the net proceeds is to be distributed equally to his next of kin living a=
t
the passage of said Act, which were 36 Grandchildren alive, or deceased
leaving descendants, to receive equally the part their paternal ancestor
would have received had he or she been alive.
The following names in red ink show the next of kin of Daniel Rogers,
who are to receive from the Administrator of his Estate, the fractional
share in black figures at the end of their respective names of $5112.00,
and petition for its allowance and distribution has been acted upon at th=
e
Probate Court, held at Newburyport, May 22, 1905.
This is sent to each beneficiary, or their legal representative,
corrected to date of receipt of official copy of order of distribution,
that they may know who, and where are the others.

G=92Grandfather, Shubael G. ROGERS b. ca 1805 m. Temmy A. ARMSTRONG. Th=

had children, Mary A., Shubael M., William A., Phebe K., Isaac P., Dani=
el
H., Martha Armintha., John Hamilton, George M., and Robert Eugene ROGERS.
They were born in NY and lived in NY, IL, WI, CO, KS, and CA. Some
locations are unknown.
