My name is Kay Watson Martel, address 236 South Shore Drive, Dover, De.
19901. My e-mail address is I am in need of some help
and suggestion's on tracing a family member. My family roots are in
Essex County, Georgetown, Haverhill and Bradford. My grandmother Sarah
RIVAL was born in Haverhill, Dec. 22, 1879 and died there on
Feb.24,1947. She married Nichouls Napoleon JOLICOEUR on Aug. 19, 1895.
They both are buried in St. Joseph's Cemetary, Haverhill. Sarah's
parent's were Jean Baptiste RIVAL and Vitaline Houde RIVAL. Grandmother
had a brother Arthur REVAL born 7-1-1886 and died 6-17-1949 in Haverhill
and buried in Linwood Cemetary. A sister Lydia REVAL born 1881?, died
age 74, in 1955. (Not sure of dates.) She married a Leo LAMORE. I got
the micro-film at FHS Essex County Ward 4, Haverhill, June 1880 and
thought I had found them, but the film list was as follows: Jean RIVAL
age 45, VITALINE, his wife age 26, so far so good. The children listed
were: FLORIDA age6, MALENA age4, VITATINE age 2. Si I knew this was not
my family I was looking for. On grandmother's baptismal, her name is
RIVAL and her brother's REVAL. So I am wondering where to look next?
Could someone do a look-up on the Essex County VR CD for me? Vitaline
was widowed(no dates) and re-married a BILODEAU (SP?) from BRADFORD.
Could that VR also be checked? Any help would be appreciated or
suggestion's where I should look next. Thank you. Best Wishes, Kay.
