Would someone with the Essex Co CD of Early MA VRs
take on a small challenge for me? (I'll happily exchange
lookups on the Barnstable & Suffolk CDs whether you
can help or not :).
I'm hitting a bit of a brick wall, and am looking for ideas.
Lydia ---?--- is a woman who's identity I would like to find.
She probably was born between 1691-1693, was married
in 1712 to Capt Josiah4 Richardson (Josiah3-2, Ezekiel 1).
The Richardson genealogy does not name her, nor does the
Cummings genealogy (a dau married a Cummings).
I guesstimate her birth based on the birthyears of her children,
as well as her husband's age. She died before her husband,
in Dracut in 1737, so she's not named in his will.
First, is there a marriage record found for them abt 1712?
Josiah Richardson was resident, I believe, in Dracut at
the time of the marriage. I have no idea where Lydia was
living.
Both genealogies are very vague about the marriage, so
I have a feeling it's not extant or recorded.
Then, with the wonders of the CDs, is there a Lydia born,
surname unknown, about 1691-93, whose father's name
was probably (based on naming patterns) either Jonathan
or Ephraim?
It's a tall order, but I'm hoping to find some clues to her
origins. She's 11 generations straight out my pure maternal line,
and is my challenge!
Thanks for any help or ideas.
Cheers!
Bobbie
