Once again we benefit greatly from new research. Bless those that delve
into old ancient records.

"The allegation that Susanna's maiden name might have been WOLTERTON, and
she a sister of Gregory, has been exploded by the discovery of the English
origin of Gregory. See Dean Crawford Smith and Melinde Lutz Sanborn, "The
Ancestry of Emily Jane Angell" (Boston, MA: New England Historic
Genealogical Society, 1993), pp. 569-577. Gregory WOLTERTON had no sister
Susanna, nor any known relationship of blood or marriage to the MERRILL
family."
