Mariana and List,
This is a coincidence. Not five minutes before I read your query, I was
browsing through the database of Abbott-Downing photographs maintained by
the NH Historical Society. http://www.nhhistory.org/
To answer your question, I believe that J. Stephens Abbott's line can be
found in the Abbott Genealogy published about 1847 by the Rev Ephraim
Abbot. I do not have a copy, but it is available in several large
genealogical libraries. Although there was a large Abbot(t) clan in
Concord, Stephens Abbott was not closely related. If I remember correctly,
he was born in Maine. But don't take my word on it.
Regards,
Clark Bagnall

Abbott Cousins<g>
Is the ancestoral information on J Stephens Abbott [of Concord NH] known?
He was the Abbott of Abbott, Downing and Company, Concord NH, 1826-1847.
Abbott, Downing and Co, made the Concord Stagecoach [and many other horse
drawn vehicles]....so very important in the westward expansion in the
United States.
Many Thanks,
Mariana
