Sad to say, this happens frequently.
Myself, I think it's only good form to at least drop a "thank you" of some
sort to the person who went out of their way to help.

I have also done lookups (even when not asked) and have not even received
acknowledgement. Now I'm beginning to understand those who no longer offer
help.

So please people, do thank the person who did you a good turn. We wouldn't
want to lose these most valuable resources.
