A Cordwainer was a shoemaker or worker in fine leather. I have an ancestor
who was listed at different times as being a cordwainer, harnessmaker,
saddler and shoemaker. I believe the word cordwainer is pronounced cordner.

Can't help with the term 'loofer'.

Regards Robin.
