General Wade drowned in Harwich harbour in 1854. Does SKS have a record
of local newspapers of the time. Also, it has been suggested that the
Christian name General came from General George Wade, does anyone know
of any biography of the General, not the road building and the unruly
Scots but a volume including his domestic life. General Wade may not
have been resident in the area as his daughter Eliza was residing in
London in 1856.
Thanks in advance Barry Laughton
