Hi everyone,
My grandfather was Thomas George HARDY, born either 1874 or 1884! Trouble is I can't find him. And, as we all know, if you can't find your grandad you can't research your family tree!! So, I guess I can say I'm in a bit of trouble here.
I only know a couple of things about him. 1) he married my grandmother in Grimsby, Lincs in 1919, 2) he wasn't very nice! He married her, a widow with 3 young children, gave her 3 more then deserted her in 1923. He's not been heard of since. Oh, and his father was Thomas too!
So far I have only been able to trace 4 T.G.Hardys'. In Dorset, London, Norfolk and Essex. All from GRO.
Now to my question. Can anyone please help me trace the one born in Chelmsford? He was born 1874
but I can't find him on 1881 census.
I need to find a Thomas George with a father called Thomas. Does anyone have access to any records that might help? Maybe 1891 census?
Any help in this will be really appreciated.
Thanks for any help
Sue (Birmingham)
