I guess that makes us Colonial Cousins, Mary Anne! Oddly enough, when I
survey the 'notables' on one side of my Tree I don't feel anything special -
maybe because I grew up knowing about some of it - but it does make the
reading of English/British history more entertaining!
In my case, some of our best connections are thanks to James IV's roving
eye -(seems to have been a Stewart trait) which produced Janet Stewart - not
to mention a number of others - who was married off to a minor nobleman,
but whose grand-daughter married into one of the more powerful Scots
families!
The best part of having 'names' in the Family Tree is that they're so well
documented it makes extended research much easier!
