I wondered why I didn't have the Overcliff on my site, but it was a private
hotel. I can't see it in the 1925-6 Kelly's, but the 1929 version has:
*Overcliff Private Hotel (Cyril Evans, propr.), The Leas West cliff.* under
Southend.

In 1933 United Hotels Ltd. were the proprietors.

My grandparents Cyril and Elsie EVANS managed the hotel between about 1925
and 1930. I need to prove or disprove a family story that my gt grandmother
Lizzie Eichelroth owned it. She may have reverted to her maiden name
CASHMORE or first married name of EVANS.
Can anyone advise me how to find out who the owner of the Overcliff Hotel
was please?
Is there a local record office for the Westcliff/ Southend area or does the
Record Office at Chelmsford have directories etc?
