Probably non-conformist baptims, but only one grave-yard! Alternatively no
faith at all, and it being after civil registration they didn't procede with
baptisms, but still - ya gotta be buried somewhere!

Subject: SORRELLS OF ESSEX

Hi list, i have kept a back seat for a while, and now feel the time is right
to give looking for my Ancestors another go.

I have had trouble looking for the baptisms of my Sorrells from Tendring,
have looked at the parish registers for St Edmunds, Parish church, Tendring
at
the Essex Records office Chelmsford and have drawn a blank, however i have
found several Sorrell gravestones  at the same church.
Can anyone give me any advice on where to look next for those records. My
Sorrells are Joseph born about 1829, his children Alice c1864, Robert Sizer
c1869
and Leonard H. 1874.

On the 1881 and 1901 censuses they were living at Yew Tree Farm, Tendring
(on
the 1891 Hill Farm). Could anyone also advise me if there is any way of
finding information of what sort of farm it was, ie Cattle, Produce etc.

I have some photo's taken of St Edmunds Church if anyone would like any,
there is about three, as i couldnt get the Church in photo.

Rgds Robin
