Hi Listers,
I'm rather stuck with my great grandmother's surname and wondered if anyone
could help. She is Eliza JIGGINS, JIGGENS or JIGGANS. I have a copy of her
marriage certificate to Albert MUNSON on 25th January 1885 where it states
her father is David JIGGINS but her surname looks more like JIGGENS. My
problem is that although I have found Albert MUNSON on the index for that month and
year, I cannot find Eliza under any of these names. The marriage
certificate states her age as 23, the 1901 census as 40 and her death entry as 79 in
1939, which means she was born in either 1862, 1861 or 1860, unfortunately I
don't know where. I have looked on the 1881 census but that has confused me
even more.
Although I know Albert was born in Felstead he lived in London before he
married, so Eliza could originate from anywhere.
Does anyone out there have this person in their tree or can you give me
suggestions as to where to look next?
Many thanks
Eileen
