Subject: [EURO-JEWISH-L] Gudelsky, Gudelski or Godelsky(i)
Date: Wed, 20 Jan 1999 06:35:29 EST

Hello, I am researching my mother's maiden name Tillie Gudelsky. Her
g-grandfather is Mordecai Gudelsky from Suwalki, Lithuania (or at times
Poland, Russia or Germany/Prussia). Mordecai had five sons and a daughter
(Yochevet) who came to the US in 3 in Rochester, 2 in St. Louis and 1 Kansas
City.

Other Gudelsky(i)'s we have heard about from the same European area are:

Zvi Gudelsky who had two sons who came to Maryland and one to South Africa.

Abraham Gudelsky who had on son that I know of (Israel b.1864) who went
through Rochester to Wisconsin and settled in Muskegon, Michigan. Israel and
wife Bessie (Goldberg) had nine children. I am told one of the children
became Godelsky.

Tadeusz and Mary Gudelski.

All came from the same proximity, but we have yet to find the common link
if any.

Other names are Druzinsky, Rabinowitz, Goldberg, Roden, Rohan, Rosenthal..

I also need a contact I can work with in Lithuiania and Poland to begin
research on that end.

Thank you, Jon Haas
