Hi, Jeanette--

I'll be glad to share what I know. The second marriage is suspect at best. I have
no evidence that this marriage ever took place, but it is my usual habit to
include information in my database that may one day turn out to be valid by noting
that the information has not been proved. I do have, however, an unknown /JACKSON/
who may have married Stephen. But...as I said, there is no evidence of such a
marriage.

Are you an EVANS relative? These are my folks too. (I descend from David BATES of
Bedord County, VA (b. abt. 1760) and Mary HARRIS (abt.1761). David was the son of
Arden EVANS and Susannah BALL and the grandson of David and Ann Arden(?) EVANS. He
moved to Wilkes County, GA, where he died. Stephen descends from William and
Susannah Clements EVANS>Arden and Susannah Ball EVANS>David and Anne Arden(?)
EVANS. All of this, of course, makes Stephen my first cousin six times removed!
