All the Evans I know worked in the lumber business. In the 1930's Van Evans
my father owned trucks and hauled lumber. He was born 1911 in West Otis, Ar.
I have pictures of his father hauling lumber with wagon and a team. I know
that they moved around. So I am thinking they had sawmill they could move.
Van's father was John Evans born 1890 in Ashdown, Ar. John 's was called
Jack not sure what his name was . He married Sarah Jane "Sally" Bailey. Jack
was born Tn. about 1859 or 69. their children that I know of where William
Eli, Lance, Dee, Thomas Etheridge, Minnie Lee,.I was told Jack's father came
from Wales. My grandfather John went into the pottery business in the 30's.
Died 1952 in Shreveport, La. I remember my Dad talking about living in Mo.
He also talked about Jasper, Texas.
