Kathy~I'll take a shot. My grandmother, Julia Anne Garton,s parternal grandmother was Emerine (Emma) Eves born (I believe) in 1835 (perhaps in southern Indiana). My grandmother always contended that Emma was "related to" Abraham Lincoln. I'm intrigued by the Lincoln middle name (which often signifies a prior generation's surname) that would have been named well in advance of Abe Lincoln's arrival on the national stage COMBINED with the child's name of Emma (although not Emerine). Although I believe Emma died in Indiana, her family had moved on to Missouri. Just a shot in the dark--Russ Miller
