Hi Jane-
That is rather odd that we both have a Ewing/Ewell tie in. Do you know where your Ewing family originated in the US? Do you have any other information on either family from earlier int he 1800's? I would be happy to exchange information with you. Both of these families were in the southern PA area in the early 1800's. Portions of the Ewell family moved to Delaware in the early 1900's and I have found several of their obituaries on the internet and have attempted to contact surviving relatives with no luck. Please contact me at my email address and let's see if we have any relations!!
