Dear Ted,
I didn't see any ADLERs mentioned, but there are many
SCHARFFITTER, SCHARFETTER, SCHARFHÜTTER, SCHAWETTER
and SCHAWITTER families listed. All of these names
represent the same families. Back then, spelling
was not standardized and people spelled the surnames
phonetically. The families are listed by the male
head of household, their ages at the time of emigration,
where they came from, where they went to, who they married,
when they married, their children's names and ages.
Among the SCHARFFITTER/SCHARFETTER families are:
Andres
Bartel
Christian
Christian
David
Gallus
Georg
Georg
Hans
Hans
Jakob
Mathis
Moriz

Rup
Rup

Thomas

Thomas

Veit
Vinzenz
Even though a lot of these names are repeated, they do represent different
families. If you are interested in any of these names, please let me know
and I will post the more detailed information about them.
