Rem,
Henry Edwards of Isle of Wight VA purchased land in Edgecombe County (the
section he moved to was later changed to Halifax County) on November 18,
1740. He purchased the land from Jacob Whitehead and it was listed as land
joining Looking Glass Swamp near the Roanoke River. This land is in Halifax
County about five miles from Scotland Neck. In Henry's will in 1758 he names
a son Nathan (B: Bet. 1750 - 1758 D: 20 Dec 1812), who I also show as
having a son named Nathan Jr. I do not have a William, but I only did
validation on Henry and his other son Britain who are in my direct line.
They did not come from Surry County but there are a lot of similarities.
Nathan Edwards sold his inheritance to Brittan Edwards his brother April 14,
1762 and was listed as living in Johnston County.
If you send me your email address I can forward some materials, perhaps
there is a match.
Take care, Edward C DeShields, Jr.

Dear Edward DeShields,
Earlier today I sent the following message to "EDWARDS-NCVA", but I am
not sure that it went any further. Since Halifax and Edgecombe Counties
adjoin, I wonder if you know anything about this.
