You can do that already.

Go to TOOLS/DIAGRAM OPTIONS/TEXT and highlight the *ed items DEFAULT and
DECENDANT then delete the 'in' after %n.

Thus 'b. %INDI.BIRT.DATE:MEDIUM%\nin %INDI.BIRT.PLAC%'
becomes 'b. %INDI.BIRT.DATE:MEDIUM%\n %INDI.BIRT.PLAC%'
