Subject: [FHU] Should I buy Family Historian
Date: Fri, 6 Sep 2002 03:22:05 -0700 (PDT)
Hello All,
I have just subcribed to this list in the hope existing users will be able to give me an idea as to if Family Historian is my best move.
I am currently using Family Tree Maker Version 10, my main tree has 2500+ people.
My problems are
If I attach multimedia to my database it grows.
I would like to attach to external images in subdirectories on my system.
Entering Source information is difficult and checking its contents contrived.
I have just added Source information for 1901 census data to 4 familys, it took me all evening.
Things like Occupation can only have a comment or a Place not both/
I can not add notes to "facts" on to people or Families.
The things I like
Ability to "Privatise" Strip living information before export. I use a GEDCOM file for my web site displays and Privatise" works quite well.
Autocomplete on Places, children, Comments etc.
I know I am asking the User Group, But you know and use the product and I want to spend my money wisely.
