I am writing to introduce myself as a very new member of this list.

I am David Anderson of 49 St Leonards Road, Beverley, East Yorkshire HU17
7HJ. I obtained my first genealogy program almost 10 years ago - the dos
version of Cumberland Tree, and recently had a 45 day trial of it's windows
version before purchasing Cumberland Family Tree 3.12. 9 years ago I
purchased Pedigree and in recent years it's windows versions PediView and
PediTree 3.261, consequently I would be interested to learn if there are
other Pedigree users amongst the FHU members, apart from Malcolm Austen
Phil Warn and Brian Teece.

I only obtained FH 2.07 two days ago and apart from reading chapter 1 of the
Quick Start Tutorial I have just completed printing the Manual. I realise I
have quite a learning curve ahead of me and would be grateful for any hints
or tips from the more experienced members that might put me on a fast track
learning route. I have printed out the monthly lists of members emails and
Simon Orde's Welcome message and would be grateful for indications of
specific messages that could be useful to print out.

>From the little I have as yet seen of the Quick Start Tutorial and the
Manual I congratulate Simon Orde on the simplicity with which he describes
everything. In the past I have found that occasionally programmers may not
realise how difficult it can be for the lesser mortals who buy the programs
to understand technical descriptions.
