Hi Nigel,

I have just started using FH because the Version of Generations I was using
was not compatible with Windows XP. I am also a fan of Generations and am
sorry that it is not to be developed further.

Honest comment re FH: I really, really like the way FH stores data. It is
very easy to use. I love the 'dynamic' nature of the charts. I also like
the way files/pics etc. can be linked to a number of individuals. There is
an excellent tutorial. Defining one's own queries is relatively straight
forward - it must be because I managed to do this without the aid of the
tutorial !!!!!!!

But ......... whilst the input is excellent, the output is not as good as
Generations - YET! Version 2.1 will allow the equivalent of Family Group
Sheets and Person Sheets. I haven't yet seen anything that says there will
be a Register Report equivalent - and I must confess this is the Report in
Generations that I use most to exchange data with 'cousins' and to make sense
of very large numbers of related persons.

Although some kind soul did say that Version xyz of Generations was
compatible with Windows XP I've decided to stick with FH (although I will
probably import data back into Generations to produce Register reports and
'pretty' charts). I have also recommended FH to a friend in the US.

My view is that the FH software is new and currently being developed. It has
great potential. Hope this helps.
