The reason that events display the date and place whereas attribute don't,
is that attributes have values whereas events don't. If you click in the
right column opposited Education (in the Records Window), you will find that
you can edit the value (e.g. the name of school/college/university etc).
There is no value to be edited for events.

Residence, although classed as an attribute, is unusual in that it doesn't
appear to have a value. This is because its value is its place - and all
attributes have a place anyway. That is probably also why the place is
displayed before the date for residences.

One option (for ordinary attributes) would be to show value, date, place in
the right column. If you clicked in this column, the date and place info
would disappear and only the value would be editable. To edit the date and
place values, you would have to expand the branch as now, and click opposite
date or place. Would that seem like a reasonable solution? I could make it
optional I suppose, for people who didn't like it.
