My son decided long ago to give himself a name that was a complete invention (both first name and surname), and has been known by it for most of his life. This seemed an appropriate use for 'Alt name' on the Details tab, but I'm sorry to see that the alternative name is not indexed - I hoped that it would be indexed to the record which is under his real (birth) name, as happens in Family Tree Maker, because most of the people who know him might not know his real name. Am I dealing with this correctly?
Also, where do I record professional qualifications such as 'R.E., A.R.C.A.' where known? I looked at the records for the Cameron Peabodys, but found no guidance. Are they 'name suffixes' on the Details tab?
My younger brother was 'Holroyd Anthony' Ray-Jones, but became a rather well known photographer under the name 'Tony Ray-Jones', so that too should be indexed. I could put 'Tony' in 'Name used' on the Details tab, but I think if would not then be indexed. What is the best way to deal with this?
