Subject: Linking photos to Events

Here's how I've been able to link a photo to an event:
- from the main screen, I poise my cursor on an event, such as my birth.
- right click on BIRTH, and one of the options is: ADD MULTIMEDIA OBJECT
- I then have 3 choices of what to link the multimedia object to, and
I choose: add to this record
- a new record is created, that is a sub-record of my birth; and I
can put all the info here that designates which photo I want attached
to my birth record
However, as the photo is linked to one of my events, and is not
linked directly to me, when I run a report (such as Individual
Narrative), the photo doesn't appear at all.
The only photos that will appear are ones that are sub-records of me
(not ones that are sub-records of my events). And, in fact, I have
not (yet) been successful in getting more than one photo to appear
(even though I've selected photo placement as option 1 or 5, and set
MaxPics appropriately)
I'd use the program if I could get event-related photo(s) to appear
next to corresponding events.... but, as I don't think the program
has that ability, I will probably use GenBox (which can handle this
feature). Unfortunately, GenBox doesn't have the nifty feature of
adding frames around parts of photos (to identify who is who in group
shots)....

I have been following this thread with interest. I am sure I read somewhere
that pictures can be linked to events but I cannot see any way of doing so.
I've only just started playing around with pictures and trying to incorporate
them in reports and I'm generally very pleased with the results. The default
settings make the pictures come out very small but I've found that pictures
look much better if they are blown up to a height of 3" and centred above the
text. However, if you have more than one picture attached to a person then it
doesn't seem to be possible to spread the pictures out in the report without
manually cutting and pasting the pictures in Word.

I'd be interested to hear how other people deal with pictures in reports.
