In my experience, most voting systems work by prior
intimation that interested individuals should cast their
vote.

So, the fact that I have chosen to express an opinion means
that I am "het up about it" ! - or is it just because I have
chosen to present an alternate view?

> So the v3.0 method is still way out in front
However, it is not a competition, nor a race, nor (for that
matter) is it a vote!

In a previous entry to the thread, you wrote:

future of this issue?

If you consider the other perspective, that since the
release of the software only 4 individuals have expressed
concern about the change, then the possible inference is
that the majority of the userbase are either in favour, or
neutral. Why should they change the code for such a
minority?

I have been a member of this list for over 4 years, and I
can't identify what prompted these comments.
Nobody, to my knowledge is seeking to deny that facilty, but
I would deny anyone on this list the right to use a few
comments on a topic to be summarised and presented to the
management of Calico Pie as the majority view of the list
membership.
