I kludge it - I introduce a new son / daughter called "Unknown which SMITH"
(or whatever the surname is). Then the grandson is entered as their son.
Thus, you have the grandson recorded as such and with their census details
entered; a very peculiarly named person to act as a reminder and the ability
to show all this on a diagram.
CBE (Crude But Effective - for me at least)

Subject: [FHU] Census - unknown relative
Hi,
I have come across a grandson on a census entry. I don't as yet know his
parents. How do I enter him? I don't want to enter him as an 'unrelated
individual'.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Don McQuade
