For just the one, I'd be tempted to have one event but lasting for a period
(from X to Y) - then stick the exact dates of each stage into the notes for
the event. The only reason for splitting would be if you wanted to
immediately see how the individual dates interweaved with other events.
(Then you'd need the hard work of working out what to call each event...)

Subject: [FHU] Events - How to enter

Hi All

I wonder if anyone could suggest how I should enter Cause Papers of a
Consistory Court - one of my ancestors took someone else to the Consistory
Court for defamation, so what I have is the record of the case, the
judgement, the record of the public apology that had to be made by the other
party and the statement of the witnesses that the
apology had actually been made. All of these had different dates, so
should they be entered separately or as one event?

Unfortunately they don't give the details of exactly what had been said that
was judged to be so slanderous (I was hoping for the juicy details) :-D

Any suggestions welcome, I am still using version 2.3.5

Debbie
